Drinking Cold Water Burns More Calories, Myth or Fact?

One study indicates that drinking a glass of cold water can burn about 8 calories more than water at room temperature.

This can happen because when you drink cold water your body will spend more energy to regulate the temperature of the water consumed with your body temperature. Moreover, when sufficient amounts of water are consumed, the metabolism in the body also increases due to the process of thermogenesis.

However, the difference in the number of calories burned after drinking cold water is actually not too significant compared to drinking hot water or at room temperature.

If the pattern and type of food consumed is not changed and is based solely on the consumption of cold water, the weight loss goal will be difficult to achieve.
